Students Passed the national exam passed with good scores!

In Sierra Leone, students graduating primary school take the national exam, NPSE, in order to be promoted to the secondary school of their choice. All thirty-one students from Empowering Children School completing grade 6 and taking the national exam passed with good scores! A celebration was in order!
We are immensely proud of them, and very grateful for the dedicated teachers who prepared them so well. This success is a group effort, including the donations of friends around the world, volunteers who work selflessly at the school, dedicated teachers, supportive parents, hardworking students, and the tireless efforts of the headmaster and Executive Director of SHARP. Well done, everyone!

The African Mosquito War Now in Paperback

Several years in the making, Ibrahim Kamara has published his first book with the support of board members in the USA. The book tells the story of the ravages of malaria on traditional African villages, and their attempts to understand and deal with the disease without the help of science. Typical practices for traditional villages are depicted, allowing the reader a glimpse into a different culture from an earlier time in history. Ibrahim himself suffers from occasional bouts of malaria. The book was originally published for Kindle, but is now available in paperback. Proceeds from book sales go to support SHARP.
