SHARP is currently supporting 90 farmers with seed and tool loans and sustainable agriculture training. Most of the farmers in our program have never farmed before, so this training was vital.

Beginning farmers would never be able to afford seed, so the ability to obtain seed is life-changing for these Sierra Leoneans. Many of the farmers are single women. For residents of these impoverished communities, income earning potential for women is almost nonexistent, so this has a huge impact on their lives.

We have a goal of providing literacy classes for the farmers, to be taught in the evening. This would make further improvements to their quality of life and ability to be successful business men and women.
