Any conversation about the dedicated teachers who work at Empowering Children Schools must include Evangelist June Cole, who has been with us for 11 years, longer than any other teacher.

Evangelist was born and raised in central Freetown. She has known since childhood that she wanted to be a teacher, and has worked to make that vision come true. Evangelist has a passion for teaching, and derives great joy from seeing children gain new knowledge. She also loves that teaching keeps her learning new things, and refreshes her memory on things she has learned in the past. 

Evangelist is married to a pastor, and has 6 children of her own, all boys. She enjoys attending church and watching an occasional movie. In her time off, Evangelist researches and prepares lessons, and rests so that she is able to keep up with her busy second graders. Her advice for new teachers is that you must love your job, because then you will have the patience needed to work with small children.
