Building Stronger Communities Through Partnership: SHARP and Equal Aqua Uganda

At SHARP and Empowering Children School, we believe that lasting change grows from strong partnerships. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our collaboration with Equal Aqua Uganda (EAU), an inspiring organization dedicated to providing clean, safe water to underserved communities in Uganda.

EAU’s mission—to improve health, education, and opportunity through equal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene—resonates deeply with SHARP’s vision of empowering children and families. Together, we are united in our commitment to creating healthier, more resilient communities.

Both organizations also share a focus on environmental sustainability. SHARP is currently constructing a school in a rural community using Interlocking Stabilised Soil Blocks (ISSBs), or “Earth bricks,” made from compressed soil, sand, and a small amount of cement. EAU uses ISSBs in its construction of water tanks and pit latrines for schools in Uganda. Compared to traditional kiln-fired bricks, ISSBs reduce carbon impact by approximately 70%, helping mitigate climate change while building essential infrastructure.

By working together, SHARP and EAU are building stronger, healthier communities where children can learn and dream freely, without the burden of unsafe water. This partnership is a meaningful step forward in our shared mission to empower children, protect the environment, and expand access to essential resources.
