Meet the Heroes Behind Our Flood Relief Efforts

When floods swept through our community, it was our dedicated disaster relief team that stepped in without hesitation. Made up of just 10 volunteers—8 teachers and 2 community members—this small but mighty team knows the stakes all too well.

Half of the team lives within the flood zone itself, experiencing firsthand the challenges faced by those they serve. The other half live on higher ground nearby, providing strategic support and additional resources. Since the rainy season began, these volunteers have been closely monitoring weather patterns and local water levels, ready to respond at a moment’s notice.

When the recent floods hit, the team sprang into action. Thanks to generous donations, they were able to quickly purchase bales of clothing and dry bedding, then gather at the local school to sort supplies for distribution. From there, they moved into the heart of the community, delivering essentials to families in need: food, clean water, toiletries, and the much-needed bedding and clothing that can make a world of difference in the aftermath of disaster.

This rapid, organized response brought relief and comfort to families facing the chaos and uncertainty floods often bring. Beyond providing physical supplies, our volunteers offered reassurance, care, and a steady presence during a frightening time.
