2026 Strategic Roadmap for Sustainable Education and Agriculture in Sierra Leone

At SHARP, every step forward is rooted in a long-term vision: creating sustainable education and opportunity for the communities we serve in Sierra Leone.

As we enter 2026, our focus is clear. This year is about turning progress into sustainability: strengthening our infrastructure, building reliable local income, and ensuring that our education and community programs remain stable for years to come.

To guide this work, we’ve developed our 2026 Strategic Roadmap, which outlines the key priorities that will move SHARP toward greater resilience and long-term impact.

Why 2026 Is a Pivotal Year for SHARP

Over the past several years, SHARP has worked alongside local leaders and community members to expand educational opportunities and agricultural training programs. As these initiatives grow, the next phase of development requires strengthening the foundation that supports them.

Our roadmap for 2026 focuses on four key priorities:

  • Completing critical facilities

  • Launching sustainable agricultural income projects

  • Growing local revenue streams

  • Strengthening financial systems and transparency

Together, these efforts will help ensure that SHARP’s programs are not only impactful today but sustainable for the future.

1. Completing Our Facilities

One of the most important goals for 2026 is completing the roofing for both the school and agriculture center, while also securing funding for interior work and furnishings.

These facilities are essential to the success of our programs, providing safe and functional spaces where students and community members can learn, train, and grow.

Why This Matters

Finishing these buildings will:

  • Create safe and protected learning spaces

  • Allow the facilities to be used year-round despite seasonal weather

  • Provide a stronger foundation for long-term growth

Investing in physical infrastructure ensures that students and trainees have an environment where education and agricultural training can thrive.

2. Launching the Poultry Project

A major milestone for 2026 is the launch of SHARP’s poultry project, which will begin egg production and include the installation of an onsite farm manager to oversee daily operations.

This initiative represents an important step toward self-sustaining income generation while also providing hunger relief in the community.

Why This Matters

The poultry project will:

  • Generate reliable local income

  • Reduce hunger and improve nutrition

  • Provide hands-on agricultural training opportunities

  • Ensure consistent oversight through onsite farm management

This project serves as both an economic engine and a training platform, helping build practical skills and long-term sustainability.

3. Growing Local Income

Reducing dependence on external funding is essential for the long-term resilience of community programs. In 2026, SHARP will expand efforts to create locally generated income streams.

Focus Areas
  • Farm products

  • Seedlings for planting and cultivation

  • Agricultural trainings for community members

Expected Outcomes

By growing these initiatives, SHARP aims to:

  • Reduce reliance on external funding

  • Increase community participation and engagement

  • Encourage sustainable economic activity

Local income initiatives empower communities while strengthening the financial stability of the programs that support them.

4. Strengthening Financial Sustainability

Strong financial systems are essential for nonprofit transparency and long-term success. In 2026, SHARP will continue improving internal financial processes and reporting structures.

Key Improvements
  • More structured budgeting systems

  • Improved expense tracking

  • Clearer financial reporting practices

Why This Matters

These improvements will help:

  • Increase transparency and accountability

  • Build greater donor confidence

  • Strengthen SHARP’s ability to secure future grants and funding opportunities

Better financial systems ensure that every contribution is managed responsibly and effectively.

What Success Looks Like in 2026

2026 Strategic Roadmap for Sustainable Education and Agriculture in Sierra Leone - What Success looks like

By the end of the year, SHARP’s progress will be measured by several key milestones.

Success in 2026 means achieving the following:

  • The school and agriculture center are fully roofed

  • The poultry project is generating consistent income

  • Stable learning space maintained year-round

  • Multiple local income streams are active

  • Stronger financial planning and reporting systems are in place

Each of these goals represents an important step toward long-term stability for SHARP’s education and community programs.

SHARP’s mission has always been about more than short-term aid—it’s about creating systems that empower communities and provide lasting opportunity.

The 2026 Strategic Roadmap represents the next step in that journey. By investing in infrastructure, local enterprise, and strong financial systems, we are building the foundation for sustainable impact.

Together with supporters, partners, and community members, we look forward to turning this roadmap into reality.
