Our Executive Director is also a gifted songwriter and musician. All proceeds from his music go directly to support the work of SHARP. Here is his story, in his own words.

I’m Ibrahim A. Kamara, but most people know me by my stage name, DMark, https://www.dmarkmusic.org/. I’m a musician, teacher, and the Executive Director of Safe Haven Adaptive Response Program (SHARP) in Sierra Leone. For me, music isn’t just entertainment—it’s a way to connect people, raise hope, and support the causes I believe in.

My sound is Afro-fusion, blending English and Krio to reach both local and international audiences. My songs often carry messages of hope, unity, and perseverance. One of my most meaningful songs, “Never Give Up,” reminds listeners—and myself—that even when life gets tough, we can still rise and keep moving forward. it will be coming out this month.

I write all my songs and work with local producers, mostly recording in my small farm studio. That’s where I’ve created most of my 50+ songs, though sometimes I visit other studios to create, collaborate and polish my sound. My music is available on Spotify, Audiomack, YouTube etc —just search for DMark.

I release a new song every month, and I use these releases to build connections between my music and the humanitarian work we do through SHARP. For donors and sponsors who unlock higher support tiers, I perform—either online or at live events—as a way to show appreciation and strengthen the bond between music, charity, and community.

I also organize the Melting Pot Intercultural Event, which happens monthly in Freetown or Waterloo. It’s a space where travelers, locals, and artists come together to share stories, music, and culture. These gatherings remind me why I started making music in the first place—to build bridges and celebrate diversity.

What inspires me most are real people and real stories—those who struggle but never give up, who keep believing in better days. My dream is to keep using my voice, not just to sing, but to serve—to show that through art, compassion, and collaboration, we can make Sierra Leone and the world a better place.
